Important note Thailand Tourist Visa Exemption

Australia passport holders are visa exempted for up to 60 days provided the traveller:

  • hold a valid passport with a validity of at least 6 months with minimum 2 blank visa pages
  • have sufficient funds for the trip
  • have proof of onward/return flights
  • have all necessary documents for the purpose of entry

Travellers may apply to extend their stay for another 30 days.

Overland: If traveller enter Thailand overland at an immigration checkpoint borders you will be allowed to stay for up to 15 days on each visit.

Need a visa to stay beyond the exempted period ?

The Royal Thai Embassy requires that the applicant submit their visa application directly if the applicant wishes to stay beyond the exempted period.
