Before Entering to Cambodia:
1. You must show a negative COVID-19 (PCR) test result issued within 72 hours of your arrival into Cambodia.
2. You must present evidence of a health insurance package which covers COVID-19 treatment. COVID insurance covering a 20 day period can be purchased on-arrival at Phnom Penh Airport for $US90.
3. Cambodia is not currently issuing visas on arrival. If you travel to Cambodia, you'll need a valid visa. You'll also need travel insurance with minimum coverage USD50,000 for the duration of your stay in Cambodia.
Quarantine Requirements
1. Vaccinated travellers don't need to quarantine on arrival if they present their COVID-19 vaccination card or certificate.
2. On arrival, you'll be tested for COVID-19.
3. All unvaccinated travellers must quarantine for 14 days.
4. Those without an existing booking at an Alternative State Quarantine hotel will need to deposit $US 2,000 in cash to cover costs. Any unused funds will be returned to you.
Other Information
1. All cruise vessels and Mekong riverboats from Vietnam will be denied entry. Cambodia's border with Vietnam has been closed until further notice.
2. Restrictions on entry to Cambodia and rules on travel within the country may change at short notice. Monitor the media for information on latest developments and follow the advice of local authorities.
3. If you can't leave Cambodia due to COVID-19 restrictions, you may be issued a visa extension. If you arrived in Cambodia after 1 January 2020 on a tourist (T) visa, you will have your visa automatically extended and any overstay fees waived until you're able to depart Cambodia.
4. Land border crossings are currently closed to foreigners.

Australians require a visa to travel to Cambodia. You can either obtain a visa prior to your departure or obtain upon arrival. Due to the long queue and tedious procedure to obtain a visa upon arrival, we recommend that you apply for the visa prior to your departure to avoid any complications that may arise. It is recommended for you to apply for your Cambodia visa within 2 months of your date of arrival into Cambodia.


Australians are among the eligible countries that can apply for Cambodia eVisa. The eVisa is valid for 90 days single entry with a maximum of 30 days stay. The eVisa takes 5 business days to process and there is NO URGENT processing option.

- Sihanoukville International Airport
- Poi Pet (from Thailand via Banteay Meanchey Province)
- Cham Yeam (from Thailand via Koh Kong Province)
- Bavet (from Vietnam via Svay Rieng Province)

Note: Nationals of following countries are not eligible to apply for eVisa:

-Saudi Arabia
-Sri Lanka

IMPORTANT NOTE: We recommend that you apply for the eVisa through a visa agency as most evisa fees are non refundable and there is limited visa support to applicants. Through a visa agent you can be assured that your application meets the current requirements and is obtained correctly.

Travellers require a visa to travel to Cambodia. You will need to obtain a visa prior to your departure date.

All travellers are required to comply with the visa requirements. This will prevent your visa application from being rejected or delayed.


Please ensure your original passport has a validity of at least 6 months with a minimum of 2 blank visa pages. This will avoid any complications at the airport check-in, customs and immigration checkpoints.

Passport conditions that may affect the assessment of your visa application and potentially being denied entry into the country:

  • Expired passport or due to expire before arrival or during your trip.
  • Water damaged passport that cannot be scanned to identify the person.
  • Cut or torn passports depending on the degree of the damage may be considered void.

Visa Application Form

Please note when completing the visa application form, an incomplete or incorrect completion of the visa application form can cause delays, in certain cases you may be required to complete a new visa application form.


You need to provide a recent passport size colour photo taken within the last 6 months.

Flight Itinerary

You are required to provide a copy of your flight itinerary showing your full name, with details of your entry and exit dates.

Supporting Document

You may be required to provide additional supporting documents depending on the type of visa you apply.


Children under 12 years of age needs to comply with the same visa requirements as adults.

Unaccompanied minors

A letter of consent by the parents may be required. In some circumstance, additional supporting documents may need to be submitted with the application.
